El Rey Mexican Restaurant in Powell

Drink specials practically every night! (Not on Sundays though, found out on a Sunday). Every meal I have gotten here has been delicious. Margaritas are really good. Staff is extreamly friendly, too.

We travel to here a lot because of family. The restaurant staff are always tending to you. The food is always good. And the restaurant is clean and orderly. Definitely recommend!!!

El Rey may be a little hard to see just in passing but it's well worth the visit. It's usually pretty quiet and a great place to grab a quick lunch. The staff is very friendly and it's always a clean place. Excellent food (the chimichanga is fantastic)

Waiter didn't listen when we said no lemons on our drinks and my grandsons taco had a hair in it. They remade it and apologized. But usually they are the best.

Wide variety of fresh Mexican food, clean restrooms, attentive staff and happy hour Mon-Friday (ex: Rum and Coke 3.75). It's always good at El Rey!

The food was especially delicious, or I was just extremely hungry. Either way it was good. There were very few patrons there, it was 2:30, so we were seated and received our food quickly. Next time I'm in the area, we're definitely going to stop n eat.

Sit for 45 minutes for a call in order that I ordered 15 minutes before I got there.

If you haven't been here your missing out. Hands down the best Mexican resturaunt around. Great food and great prices. It's definitely in my top 2 favorite places to eat. Fast friendly service and amazing food.

Another instance of Google confusing driving by with visiting. From now on any place big g decides I visited and need to rate due to said visit gets a 5 star rating. So here is five stars for the excellent driving by experience I had.

I have been coming here for over five years and have never had a bad experience. The staff is great and the food always good. And of course the beer is ice cold!

Just moved to this area and finally found THE go to Mexican restaurant! Being from Texas, we are accustomed to a little spicier foods but the flavor made up for the lack of super heat. Will be back

We eat here at least twice a week. Best Mexican food in the Powell area. Always quick and courteous service. I’ve never had a meal that was bad. Seriously, not joking, the BEST salsa I’ve ever had in my entire life.

You will not find better people, service, and good food like you will at El Ray's! This place has an incredible menu! Their salsa is the best I've had. Don't be scared to try something different. I recommend Texas delight, chorizo and eggs, and the T-bone.

I love the service here, very Johnny on the spot service. Great music, wonderful food at decent prices. Plenty to choose from. Wheelchair accessible, non smoking and you can have a drink with your meal. Surprisingly comfortable for such a small restaurant. Clean dinning area and restrooms.loads of parking, easy to locate

So I pay 10.25 for my entree and come home to find a bowl full of rice? I hardly ever do bad reviews on places to eat but the quality of food this establishment is offering is not worth the money go next door to full house at least there you get what you pay for

Worst service ever food was not even ok would not suggest this place ...had to ask for refills on salsa that was half filled and then refills for drinks...finally we asked for the check and then had to ask for someone to make payment too.... this place sucks seriously...

My oldest is a huge fan of Mexican food, we get takeout at least twice a month.There are a lot of places to sit down and eat to enjoy some really good Mexican food.One of my favorite places that I like to eat Mexican food with my two sons’ is El Rey Restaurant.The service is always nice and the food taste like real authentic Mexican steak burritos and beef tacos

My wife and I love this place. They are always friendly and Josephina is our most favorite server. Everyone is great! Food is good and comes piping hot. The beer is frosty cold as it should be.

I love this restaurant! The service is always quick and friendly, especially the guy up front that rings up the orders. I don't understand the negative reviews unless they have the wrong restaurant or location in mind. I think the prices are very reasonable and the food has always been delicious. I have filled up the punch card at least 3 times.

Found this family ran Mexican restaurant many years ago, great food, great prices the staff are on top of their game! Service here is always with a smile its fast, its correct and the food is hot!! They take pride in their restaurant, it is clean from floor to ceiling. This is our Favorite hidden gem here in Powell. We have eaten many meals here from pork carnitas, to basic hard shell tacos their food is Delicious!

Had my first dining experience at El Rey's this week & was very happy I did! Nice, clean restaurant, friendly & helpful staff and the best part was the food was delivered to our table, which was a party of 12, quickly & it was hot, fresh & delicious! I can'y wait to have my next dinner at El Rey's Mexican Resaurant!

For starters, the chips are horrible. You're better off eating a bag of great value tortilla chips from walmart. My fiance and daughter ordered tacos but they had onions so they didn't eat them. I ordered a chimichanga plate that I didn't even touch. I tried what I thought was a chorizo taco but it was actually a spicy beef taco that made me sick. I tried to get all of the food taken off of my ticket since no one liked their food and a worker at the front gave me attitude and was very rude about the whole situation saying it wasn't his problem. In all of the restaurants I've eaten at, I've never had an issue with returning food and getting it taken off of my ticket. I will never eat here again and I recommend you do the same.

I don’t know how this place has such a high rating. I tried for the first time and was highly disappointed. The salsa and cheese dip were thin & runny. The waiter was great at first but after the food hit the table it was a long, long time before he came back to check on us. My dinner was great, my 5y/o‘s food was less than fair. I had to get my bill from another waiter. Never saw the waiter again so I had to flag someone else down to pay the bill! After paying, needed to use the restroom & walked through where the wait staff hang out & there the waiter was with his face stuck in his phone! Which Explained everything. Won’t be back!!
